Update and information

20/11/2020

Good evening everyone

As we encounter new changes I'd like to reach out to you all to keep you up to date with changes

Our council area remains in level 3 which allows u18's training to remain the same but our over 18 year old players can not be involved in contact sports. We are encouraged not to travel out with our area to help stop the spread of covid-19 however

scottish FA have published this advice for travel for games.

Travel

Travel Exemptions are in place for Youth Sport, including football. These exemptions are:

  • U18s can travel freely for exercise at Levels 0-3.
  • Teams should compete locally in all levels and at all ages

If you live in a Level 3 or 4 Local Authority area you should:

Avoid any unnecessary travel out of the area.

Keep journeys within the area to an absolute minimum.

For further information on the relevant level restrictions, please see content by level below.

Where activity is permitted, clubs must play games as locally as possible. However, we are aware that due to the diversity of communities across Scotland, this will not always be possible with clubs based in rural settings often having to travel further to play matches.

Where travel is permitted we encourage parents/carers to minimise touch points and reduce the risk of transmission by avoiding any public indoor areas and ensuring they remain physically distant at all times.

At this stage, we remind parents/carers that they are not permitted to spectate on the touch-lines during training and matches.

We would encourage all clubs, ANA’s and league bodies to adopt a common sense approach at all times, reducing risk to everyone involved.

Players should travel to matches by foot, bike or car wherever possible. These remain the preferred method of travel and the lowest transmission risk.

Current Scottish Government advice recommends that if travelling by car only travel with members of your own or your extended household. Please follow these government guidelines.

We at the club understand that some families will be worried or anxious and if at any time you feel uncomfortable attending training or games please let your coaches know as we will fully understand that families will be in different circumstances and we will offer support where we can.

your coaches may also need some help as restrictions require 2 coaches to be at each training session and game so if you can help even just on game days please let them know as they have increased work now running the team due to covid-19 guidelines and requirements to keep the kids playing.
If you can help take a team or a coaching session let us know and we can organise courses and checks to be done.

we understand that there also many people in difficult circumstances and they may be in need of food. The club have a food pantry and is available to all in need. Message in confidence the club and we will organise a food parcel to be delivered or collected.

lastly if you have any questions please get in touch and we will do our best to answer.

stay safe everyone
