Meet your team

18/08/2025

Hi, I’m Davie – and I’ve been a volunteer at Glenrothes Strollers for over five years.

I first got involved through coaching my daughter’s team. What began as a way to support her quickly became something much bigger. Coaching the U12s was incredibly rewarding—watching the kids grow in confidence and ability was something really special.

For me, football has always been about more than just what happens on the pitch. It’s about building confidence, friendships, resilience, and creating a place where people feel they belong. Glenrothes Strollers is exactly that—a club that brings people together from all walks of life and gives everyone a chance to grow.

These days, I’ve stepped back from coaching the kids, passing things on to some fantastic coaches. I’m enjoying being a parent on the sidelines now, but I’m still around to lend a hand or offer advice whenever needed.

Now, I manage the Over 35s team, serve on the club committee, and help out as kitman too. But my connection with the Strollers goes way back—I played here myself, and so did many of my friends and family. This club has always been a big part of my life and my community.

One of the things I’m most proud of is helping grow our Over 35s team from a casual fitness group into a competitive side playing in the East Region league. It’s a reminder of what’s possible when people come together with a bit of passion and purpose.

Volunteering here is about giving something back and helping to keep this amazing community club thriving. You don’t need loads of time, every bit of help makes a difference, and you’ll be amazed at how rewarding it is.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, I’d say go for it. It’s one of the best things you can do.
